Hayate stood in a stance of ready next to a tree in a forest, his eyes are and his fist clenched tightly.  A pair of eyes watched Hayate from the tree top above him.  a gentle breeze blows into the tree, leaves begin to fall.  Hayate leaps into the air grabbing random leaves as they blow in the wind, he lands and leaps once more, halfway up his leap he gets kick in the face  he lands on his back, a person follows landing on his chest with two feet..  He looks up and sees Mihiro standing on his chest.

Mihiro: you could have blocked that Hayate.

Hayate looks up at her and smiles.

Hayate: yeah, I could have but I wanted to make sure it was you.

Mihiro helps him up to his feet.

Mihiro: you’re still late for our sparring match Hayate.

Hayate: Ha, I’m late?  You do realize we’re supposed to be training.  You’re supposed to be training for the ascension trials and I’ve got a match coming up soon.

Mihiro: you’re taking this too seriously Hayate.

Mihiro reaches quickly behind Hayate’s head and grabs an incoming dart that was intended hit him in the head.  

Hayate: What the…?

Mihiro opens her hand and see the dart has a blue ribbon tied to it.  She looks up into the trees.

Mihiro: oh man, how did he find me?

In the tree, Mihiro’s teacher stands on a branch with his arms folded looking down strictly at her.  

Mihiro: sensei, oh great, here comes another lecture.

Gen leaps down from the trees and lands just in front of the two.

Gen: Is a lecture needed Mihiro?  How many times must I catch skipping practice?

Hayate steps in front of him.  he bows politely at him.

Hayate: it’s my fault master Gen, I told Mihiro where I would be training.

Gen: Hayate, as long as you have known, Mihiro would you honestly believe she could never find you?

He smiles embarrassed at him rubbing the back of his head.

Hayate: well, you got a point.

Mihiro slaps Hayate in the back of the head.

Mihiro: Hayate, I could find you anywhere with that cheap cologne, you buy.

Hayate: hey, chicks dig a brand name product.

Mihiro slaps him in the back of the head.  Suddenly Rachael walks next to Gen.  She turns and smiles at him.

Rachael: master Gen; to what do we owe the honor of this visit?

Gen: very funny Rachael.  I’m here for the usual, my pupil escaping to see Hayate.  However, it’s time for their training to begin.  This will be the final lesson we can give them.

Rachael smiles and nods in agreement.

Rachael: I agree master Gen

Mihiro and Hayate look at each other confused.  Gen throws a smoke bomb enveloping them into smoke; they cough and pass out.  Hayate lies in a forest alone face down into the dirt.  He wakes up and yawns; he hears a whistling noise coming from behind him.  he holds out his hand and catches something.  He looks at what he caught, it a wooden skewer of fish.  He looks up and sees Mihiro sitting in a tree looking down at him.

Mihiro: Hayate, you sleep too much.

A few minutes later Hayate and Mihiro sit together next to a stream.  Hayate finishes his skewer and throws it into the stream.

Hayate: Mihiro, Have you prepared for the trials?

Mihiro: Hayate, you can’t prepare for the test of life.

Hayate raises his eyebrows curiously at her.

Hayate: Mihiro, this is going to our greatest challenge we ever face, how you cannot prepare for this…

Mihiro: I have Hayate, as a Kunoichi I only fight the battles I can win.  

She turns and smiles under her mask at him.

Mihiro: you cannot prepare for life because you are already ready.  Remember that Hayate.

Suddenly impachi warriors erupted from the stream, another group emerges from the trees behind them.  Hayate and Mihiro stood back to back facing them in their fighting stances.  Mihiro stands in her fighting stand.  The impachi punches forward aiming for her face.  Mihiro disappears leaving an after image of herself along with a slash mark on it’s chest, she performs the teleport technique on several more of the impachi.  She stands several feet away holding her sword above her sheathes.  She slides her sword into her sheathes making a clicking noise, the impachi erupted into a fiery blaze then exploding.  Meanwhile Hayate stands surrounded by the impachi; his eyes flashed with electricity, the impachi charges him, Hayate punches the ground.  As the impachi got within a few feet of Hayate an electric pulse explodes from the ground carrying them away, another electric pulse explodes from the ground and channels into them causing the impachi to explode.  Suddenly the both he and Mihiro enter a vision.  In the vision, Mihiro sees an elite level ninja standing on a large stone rock in the middle of a pool with her arms folded staring outward menacing.  The ninja is dress with black gloves and bracers that extended to her elbows.  The Kunoichi outfit is a teal blue.  The Kunoichi pulls out her sword and slashes forward sending out large wave of fire.  The blade is an orange blade with an imprint of a Japanese dragon.  Hayate sees a short stocky man in a black gee punching a tree trunk practicing with martial arts bracers gauntlets.  As he punish he could see electric pulses flashing from each hit.  The vision ends, Hayate and Mihiro stare at each other alarmed by what they saw.

Mihiro: Hayate, did you see that?

Hayate: Yes I did, I believe those are our opponents.

Mihiro: they are waiting for us down stream.  This is part of the test Hayate.

Hayate: yes it is.  Let’s go Mihiro.

They arrives down stream at a pool fed by the stream, the karate man and Kunoichi turns to face them.  Hayate and Mihiro stands in their fighting stances.

Mihiro: Hayate, please be careful ok.

Hayate: I will, you too.

Mihiro teleports behind the Kunoichi and swings her sword at her back, the Kunoichi blocks her attack with her blade.  Mihiro leaps into the air.

Mihiro: she has impressive reaction time.  Now let’s see you beat this.

Meanwhile, Hayate runs forward towards the karate man.

Hayate: I don’t have to go all out, I can beat him without using my full power.  I will not have to kill him.

Hayate punches forward aiming for the karate man’s head, he blocks Hayate’s punch with his right hand, backhands Hayate sending him flying, and breaking through several trees before landing in a dazed.  Elsewhere, Mihiro performs a shadow replication technique cloning herself in mid air, the clones attack all at once on the Kunoichi.  Mihiro looks on standing on a nearby in the pool.  The Kunoichi blocks all of the attacks; her sword ignites.  She disappears from the crowd.  Mihiro sees slash streaks of fire streak across all of her clones; they erupted into a fiery blast.  

Mihiro: What the… how did she do that?

The Kunoichi appears behind Mihiro; she slashes in the back with her sword blaze with flame.  She stood motionless with her eyes wide open in shock.  Meanwhile Hayate rubs his face sitting up from the ground.  

Hayate: you are not that difficult of an opponent, I should have to exert that much power to defeat you.

He charges forward fist cocked back ready to punch the karate man in the face.  The karate man blocks and holds the punch with his right backhand, he uses his left hand to grab Hayate and slam him over his shoulder to the ground on his back.  The Karate man’s foot slams into Hayate’s chest pinning him to the ground and crushing his chest.  Hayate screams out in agony.

Hayate: aaaahhhh!!!!!

Elsewhere Mihiro splashes into the pool face first, her eyes are closed and her body is limp.  She hears Gen’s voice.

Gen voice: I have taught you much my pupil…

She sees herself and Gen standing in a tree looking downward at Hayate’s dojo..

Gen: … there is one more lesson you need to understand.  It is the final lesson for you to complete your training.

Mihiro looks over to him curiously.

Mihiro: what is that Gen-sensei?

Gen: the lesson is “what is the reason you fight” my pupil.

Mihiro: Gen-sensei, are you joking?

Gen: no Mihiro, I am not.  When you find the reason, you will be ready for the accession trials.  I must be going.

Gen teleports away, Mihiro looks back to the dojo.

Mihiro: Gen-sensei, what kind of lesson is this?  Oh well, I wonder what Hayate is doing.

Mihiro leaps off the tree and teleports.  The vision ends, Mihiro eyes opens.  She leaps up out of the water several feet and punches the ninja in the face, she spins her body kicking her in the face with both feet, she finally grabs her sword as she spins and slices the ninja down the middle landing on a rock standing up right.  The ninja’s body disappears into smoke, in it’s place lays the sword with the orange blade and a scroll.  Suddenly Mihiro sword changes color into an exacted orange blade just like the slain ninja’s.  She grabs the sword and holds her weapons with pride.  Meanwhile hayate lies on the ground under the heel of the karate man’s foot as he is crushing his chest.  He enters a vision., he and Rachael sits in a dojo in a meditation stance with their eyes closed.

Rachael: Hayate, you held back today during our sparing.  You don’t have to hold against me.

Hayate: forgive me sensei, I will not hold back…

Rachael: you will Hayate, you will until you can pass the lesson of a true martial artist.  When you passed that, you will be ready for the ascension trials.  To fight with all of you might does not always result in death unless you want it to.

Hayate: Yes sensei.

The vision ends, Hayate eyes opened fiercely and wide.  He kicks and pushes the karate man ff of him with both feet into his thigh.  The karate man stumbles backwards a few steps, Hayate lands on the ground and uppercuts him in the head, he then performs a hurricane kick and kick him in the face.  The man disappears leaving behind his bracers and a scroll.  Hayate grabs the bracers and puts them on.  He holds out his hand, a leaf falls into it.  Mihiro teleport in front of him and hugs him immensely.

Mihiro: oh my god we did it Hayate.  We won.

Hayate hugs her as well.

Hayate: Yes, we did Mihiro.

Mihiro: Hayate, you’re the reason I fight.

Hayate: Mihiro thank you, because of you I can fight with my full potential, I am no longer afraid of my full power.

They both hear claps from behind them.  They turn around and see Gen and Rachael applauding them.  

Gen: Mihiro, I see you have found your reason to fight.

Rachael gently smiles at Hayate.

Rachael: Hayate, you have achieved the wisdom of the true martial artist.  Now you can both face the association trials.

Mihiro and Hayate bow to their masters.

Mihiro: when does it start Gen-sensei?

Gen: I am no longer your sensei; I am your opponent.  I have given you everything you need to beat me.

Mihiro stares alarmed at Gen.

Mihiro: what, Gen-sensei what are you talking about?

Hayate stares Horrified at Rachael.

Hayate: Rachael-sensei, what is going on?

Rachael: be silence Hayate, you have trained for this moment.  Observed and watch.

The two teachers disappear into a mist of smoke.  A large dragon of fire forms coiling itself into a sitting position staring menacingly down at the two.  Another dragon of electricity forms next to it.  Mihiro and Hayate stood frozen and stared horrified

Dragon of flame: Finally you have achieved your full potential   now you must pass our trails and opponents; if you fail we will kill you both.

Dragon of lightning: When you have defeated our minions, you will then face us to the death.  Train well warriors and farewell.

The dragons disappear, Hayate and Mihiro held each other hands, they cried but looks on determined.  

Hayate: I will not fail you Mihiro.

Mihiro: nor will I Hayate.

Mihiro-Hayate: we pass our trails together and destroy our enemies.
