Valkyrie Hunt Story 2

The labs in Gemini one was dark, empty and barren.  A large glass cylinder stasis tube filled with bright green fluid was the only thing illuminating the room.  A silhouette floats in the liquid.  Suddenly the cylinder cracks; water begins to leak out.  The glass breaks spilling the liquid all over the floor.  Shiva inside the cylinder leans against the unbroken glass; her head held down.  Shiva stumbles out of the cylinder, her hands held out in front of her shaking uncontrollably.  Shiva falls to the knees hunched over with her wet hair over her face; she clinched her teeth in frustration.

Shiva: Malice, can you hear me?

Malice voice: Shiva, you’re awake?  Has Maverick woken up yet?

Shiva grabs a nearby desk and pulls herself up leaning over on her elbow.

Shiva: Z is waking up Malice.  Maverick is recovering in stasis.  How is Lenneth coming along?

Malice voice:  Lenneth is recovering well.  She is still under the influence of the Valkyrie program but she is coming into her abilities as expected.  

Shiva:  Understood Malice, please keep me posted on her progress.  As soon as Maverick recovers well come get you both.

Shiva looks around and sees the alien soldiers surrounding her; their guns are drawn and pointed at her.  Shiva turns around and stares angrily with her eyebrows frowned at them and her eyes are glowing.

Malice voice: do you need my help Shiva?

Shiva: hells no, follow my orders Malice.  Observe and monitor Lenneth until Maverick is operational.  You’re still under the influence of the Valkyrie program.

Shiva cracks her knuckles smiling manically at the aliens.

Shiva: and Malice, I’m not that weak that I can’t take out a platoon of soldier’s as a human.

Malice voice: can you talk to Lenneth?

Shiva: I can only talk to her for a few seconds at a time Malice.

Meanwhile a large pile of aliens lay next to a wall; another alien soldier is thrown on the pile.  Lenneth stands before them holding out her sword that is glow bright blue.  Tim is transformed as a large shield on her left arm.  

Mortimer: after you destroy these monsters Lenneth, your abilities will be raised one level.

Tim: that’s just a bonus Lenneth; you’ll really just love hacking things to pieces.

Lenneth points her sword in front of her playfully at the alien soldiers.

Lenneth: Oh you know it Tim.

Lenneth glides firing her back rockets forward slashing the alien soldiers across the torso and slicing them in half.   She turns around firing her buster rifle one handed into a group of aliens.  Lenneth lowering her gun looks down at the pile of alien parts and admiring the destruction.  Tim transforms and crawls back up Lenneth’s shoulder.

Shiva voice: Don’t get cocky Lenneth.

Lenneth looks around the room confused and startled.

Lenneth: who…what?

Tim: Lenneth, what’s wrong with you?

Mortimer: Lenneth got an unknown transmission Tim.

Shiva: oh, Mortimer isn’t it, correct?

Mortimer: oh you got to be kidding me; does everyone think my name is Mortimer?

Shiva leans against with her left foot on the wall and her right index finger touching her temple on her right side of her head.   (Leans against what?)

Shiva: Mortimer, you should be receiving a priority 1 distress message right now, correct?

Mortimer: I have just received it now.  How you did you…?

Shiva: I’ll tell you later Mortimer; now get Lenneth to the distress signal.  That’s an order.

Lenneth leans against the wall with her arms folded; Tim perched on Lenneth’s shoulder looking down the hallway.

Lenneth: so where am I going Mortimer?

Mortimer: I am preparing your briefing now Lenneth.

Tim: it’s probably another burning inferno, complete with complemented explosions

Mortimer: that’s exactly it Tim.

Lenneth’s eyes began to glow

Tim: you know you could just lie to me.  I would feel a lot better that way.

Lenneth: which way Mortimer?

Tim looks over at Lenneth.

Mortimer: the coordinates have already been programmed into our transport.   All we need to is…

Lenneth: which way Mortimer?

Mortimer: the transport warp tube is straight ahead Lenneth straight down the hallway.

Lenneth takes off running down the hallway.

Tim: Lenneth, are you alright?

Lenneth: Never better Tim…

Lenneth opens the transport chamber; she looks into the glass of the transport tube.  As she looks on the glass she sees a reflection of herself, she pauses and sees herself  dressed from head to toe in firemen's equipment. She wears dark blue firemen's pants, the standard thick coat and gloves. Completing it with a firemen’s gas mask and helmet.

Tim: screams: Lenneth, wake UP.

Lenneth shakes her head and walks into the tube activating the transport system.

Lenneth: I’m fine Tim, please don’t ask…

Tim: Spill it Lenneth.

Lenneth: I saw something the reminded a me a little of whom I was ok.  Is that a good enough reason, Tim?

Tim: No, it’s not.  Cut the crap and just tell me already.

Lenneth enters the transport chamber and teleports

Lenneth: voice: I used to be a fire fighter

Lenneth appears on the outskirt of a city metropolis; Tim is perched on her left shoulder.  In each of the building a fire rages out of control.

Lenneth: ok Mortimer what do we have to do...?

She looks over to Tim who is staring at her.

Lenneth: Tim, what is it?

Tim: what were you besides a firefighter?

Lenneth looks away from him.

Lenneth: I was a little bit… of …a …pyromaniac.

Tim: so you were a firebug and a fire fighter?

Lenneth it was sort of a rush at first, but then I kind of liked saving people .I got to be around fire as job and be a hero.  Besides they need people like me who aren’t afraid of fire.

Tim: you blew up your school, didn’t you?

Lenneth: it was the boys’ locker room and they never caught me.  It was payback for a practical joke.

Lenneth looks over and sees Tim staring at her in a blank stare.

Lenneth: you can’t prove a thing you know.

Tim: I just recorded that whole conversation.

Lenneth: you wouldn’t.

Lenneth exits out of the transport tube; she looks around and sees a large metropolis city engulfed in flames.

Tim: Lenneth, if I could I would save this as picture for you to put up on your wall.

Lenneth: how many people is there Mortimer?

Mortimer: In the reports there is believed to be 5 people trapped in this fire.  Tim, you should be receiving tracking data on the targets now.

Tim: yeah I got it.  3 are high rise sky scrapers.  Two are trapped below in a subway.  It would probably be easier to get the 3 in the high-rises first.

Lenneth: understood Tim, hey Mortimer; will the heat affect my body?

Mortimer: Lenneth, your armor will adjust to the high temperatures.  

Lenneth takes off of the ground and flies into the city skyline.

Lenneth: Hey Tim, can give a location on the closet Target as well as their condition.

Tim: the closet one is on a high rise building straight ahead, according to my sensors they’re vitals are sporadic.

Lenneth: they’re hallucinating Tim?

Tim: you are correct; please stay after the show to collect your no prize award.

Lenneth flies through the walls of a building and lands looking around the room that is engulfed in flames

Mortimer: Lenneth, your buster rifle has been augmented with a energy coolant that should dissipate the flames with out causing any structural damage.

Lenneth digitally summons her buster rifle in her right hand and points it to the flames.

Lenneth: which way Tim?

Tim: straight.

Lenneth fires her gun clearing a path way in front of her to the victim.  The victim is a woman wearing a black outfit lying passed out on the floor; she looks up and sees Lenneth’s face.

Mortimer: Lenneth, the rescue team is tracking us, all you have to do is touch her and she be the tracking field around us allowing the ship to digitally teleport her to safety.

Woman: they’re still people in the city, saved them please

Lenneth kneels down and touches the woman’s chest, her body glows a bright yellow.  The woman opens his eyes and smiled at Lenneth as she is teleported away.

Lenneth: where’s the next one Time?

Tim: south east of here.  Oh man Lenneth you won’t believe where he’s at.

Suddenly Lenneth hears a message on the radio.

Voice: hello…hello is anyone there?

Tim: it’s the next closest target Lenneth.  

Inside a cafeteria Kitchen a heavyset man is cowering on the floor holding a hand radio to his ear eating a sandwich.  The man has a low buzz hair cut with a white t-shirt, blue jean pants, and white tennis shoes

Man: my name is Kevin Steward; I’m trapped inside my school’s kitchen.  I’m on a diet and I cheated but please someone help me out here.  

In the cafeteria floor there are three alien soldiers walk through the isle holding and firing Blow torch packs on the floors.

Kevin: these alien creatures are setting everything on fire.  Help me; I don’t want to die here.

Lenneth’s voice: hey Kevin…

Kevin looks at the radio with his eyes opened.  Lenneth is flies over the city sky with her hand out in front of her with Tim on her shoulder.

Lenneth: tell me something, do you believe in heroes?

Kevin voice: *sniff* yes why?

Lenneth: because you've got one coming for you now.
